Reliable Parking Lift with Manual Unlock System

Mutrade proudly presents one of our latest U.S. projects: 13 units of two-post parking lifts Hydro-Park 1227 installed in a premium collector garage. This installation perfectly showcases how HP-1227 series delivers maximum space efficiency while maintaining absolute safety and independence, especially thanks to its genuine mechanical manual unlock system.

What Is the Unlock Mechanism?

In stack parking lifts, vehicles are parked on platforms that move vertically. To prevent accidental movement or platform drop, each platform is equipped with safety locks (also called pawls, latches, or mechanical stops). Before the platform can move, these locks must be disengaged — this is where the unlock system comes into play.

Manual Unlock System: How it works

Before moving the platform, the operator must physically release the lock, by pulling a handle/turning a lever. Only after this manual step can the lift be activated.

While most of Mutrade parking systems dominate automated solutions, the manual unlock mechanism of Hydro-Park 1227 still holds significant value in specific contexts. Its mechanical simplicity ensures fail-safe operation — an operator can safely release the platform using basic tools.  Moreover, in low-traffic private garages or service workshops, where speed is less critical, manual unlock offers a transparent, tactile method that reinforces operator awareness and reduces dependency on electronics. In essence, it’s not just a legacy feature — it’s a deliberate choice for resilience and control.

Manual Unlock System Advantages

  • Simplicity & Reliability

Simpler mechanical design with fewer electronic components.

  • Lower Initial and Maintenance Costs

Without actuators, solenoids, wiring, or control integration:

The system is cheaper to manufacture and install

Maintenance is minimal — no sensor calibrations etc.

  • Enhanced Safety Through Operator Control

Manual unlocking requires direct human action, which:

  1. Ensures the operator is physically present and attentive before platform movement

  2. Prevents accidental or unintended activation (e.g., due to software glitches or remote interference)

  3. Provides clear tactile feedback that the lock has been disengaged

  • Ideal for Low-Frequency or Controlled Use

In private garages, small workshops, or residential settings where the lift is used only a few times a day:

  1. The extra step of manual release is not a significant burden

  2. The trade-off in speed is outweighed by long-term reliability and cost savings

  • Functionality During Power Outages

In the event of a blackout or electrical failure manual systems remain fully functional
